Georgia 16th in Tax Collections

Georgia ranked No. 16 out of the 50 states in 2012 in the amount of taxes it collected, according to a new report from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Gross Peach State collections in the 12 months ending June 30, 2012 were about $16.8 billion.

California sat atop the 50-state ranking, collecting $112 billion, while South Dakota was last with $1.5 billion.
