Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport announced today that passenger traffic in June was 3.47 percent higher than a year earlier, increasing from 8,462,446 passengers in 2011 to 8,755,765 passengers in 2012.

Total passenger traffic for the year to date increased by 4.46 percent over the same period last year — from 44,957,607 in 2011 to 46,961,939 in 2012.

Aircraft operations (landings and takeoffs) in June were 1.33 percent higher than a year earlier, increasing from 79,647 to 80,705 in 2012 and increased by 1.65 percent for the year to date.

Total air cargo for June decreased by 3.24 percent compared with last year — from 56,586 in 2011 to 54,755 in 2012 — and decreased by 2.97 percent for the year to date.
