Regions Bank Wins Top Honors in Web Site Performance Competition

Regions Bank (NYSE:RF) was recently honored by Gomez, the Web performance division of Compuware Corporation, as providing the top web site performance in online banking - www.regions.com - and as a Gold Web Performance Award winner for 2009.
The "Best of the Web: Gomez 2009 Web Performance Awards" report showcases the leaders in web site performance across six industries - retail, finance, travel, media, healthcare, and government - based on Gomez's Web and Mobile Performance benchmark analysis of over 2,000 brands in 2009. This year marks the first time Gomez has presented an all-encompassing web performance award.
Regions earned Gomez's top honor for its web site's response time, availability and consistency. In fact, regions.com outperformed the web sites of the top 25 banks in America, with the best average response time, availability and consistency throughout 2009, as measured by Gomez's banking benchmarks.
Regions has been a top performer in the past year on Gomez's benchmarks. Last year, Regions Online Banking tied for first place for average success rate in completing online transactions among U.S. banks, and ranked second for average response time.
