Palmyra makes surgical history

Palmyra’s Dr. John Bagnato became the first surgeon in Georgia, second surgeon in the U.S., and third surgeon in the world to use the new cutting edge “spider” technology. The “spider surgical system” allows a doctor to conduct procedures at one entry point like the belly button instead of making multiple incisions during surgery. The spider has two arms that rotate 360 degrees and have the ability to feed a camera through one of the arms to assist in surgery. (More at Fox31)
