Career and resource fair to be held in Camilla April 8

The Georgia Department of Labor’s Camilla Career Center, Mitchell-Baker Employer Committee, Camilla Chamber of Commerce, and Pelham Chamber of Commerce will host a career and resource fair for employers and job seekers in the area.


The event will be held Thursday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Mitchell County Agricultural Center, located behind the Mitchell County Extension Service office, at 4590 Highway 37 East in Camilla.


The event will feature about 20 employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. Some employers will be hiring, while others will be discussing possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers and other organizations will be providing educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.


Employers and resource agencies expected to participate in the career and resource fair include: Bainbridge College, City of Albany, Darton College, East Baker Commercial Kitchen, Equity Group, Experience Works, Halcyon Home, Mitchell County CYC, Mitchell County Hospital, Mitchell County Schools, Mitchell Teen and Resource Center, New Hire Solutions, Pelham Parkway Nursing Home, Rescare Home Care, Right From the Start Medicaid, Southwest Georgia Technical College, Southwest Public Health District, Spring Creek Health Cooperative, U.S. Census Bureau, Valdosta State University, and Walden University.
