64,000 Georgians Successfully Voted Early on New Voting Machines

In just three days of early voting, more than 64,000 Georgians have voted in person on the Peach State’s secure and verifiable paper-ballot voting system. In the two early voting days since Monday, the number of Georgians who have voted early on the new system has increased more than 3.5 times.

The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce announced Deerfield-Windsor School senior Jonathan Porter Hill as the Dougherty County 2020 PAGE STAR Student, earning the recognition for academic achievement and performance on the SAT. Hill recognized Jake Clawson of Deerfield-Windsor as his STAR teacher. Hill will represent Dougherty County at the March 17th regional competition in Thomasville.

Lawmakers Take No Action on Bill Regarding Daylight Savings

Health, safety and consistency were mentioned over and over Tuesday as Legislators listened to testimony on House Bill 709 which would direct the state to hold a non-binding referendum asking Georgia residents if they would like to do away with daylight saving time. A non-binding referendum is a ballot question used to inform the state government about potential future action.

USDA Invests $5M in Broadband for Rural Georgia Communities

2019 Another Record Year for Georgia Exports

Kemp announced that Georgia has set another record, this time in exports and global trade, as the state’s diverse industry base and global connectivity continue to drive competitiveness. In 2019, the State of Georgia tallied $41.2 billion in exports and $143.3 billion in overall international trade.
