The Institute for Leadership Development kicked off its first program in August of 2014 and was implemented to facilitate community and Chamber involvement and teach a range of skills participants could utilize in the work place.

Georgia’s Unemployment Rate Up Slightly to 6.3% in May

The Georgia Department of Labor announced today that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in May was 6.3 percent, up one-tenth of a percentage point from a revised 6.2 percent in April.

New Distribution Center Bolsters the Albany Logistics Story

WebstaurantStore, an online retailer of restaurant supplies and equipment, announced it plans to open its newest distribution and fulfillment center in an existing 472,000-square-foot facility in Albany earlier this year. The move represents an investment of $10 million over the next three years and will create 150 jobs. Hiring is expected to begin in December.
