Meals with a Mission Fundraiser Set for September 18th to Support House of Hope
Wednesday, September 10th, 2025
The Arc of Southwest Georgia will host its annual Meals with a Mission Fundraiser on Thursday, September 18, from 6–9 PM at Chehaw’s Creekside Center. The event will feature local celebrity chefs competing in a high-energy cook-off, where guests can enjoy tastings from each chef, music, an open bar, a silent auction, and more.
This year’s fundraiser will directly support the renovation of the House of Hope, originally dedicated by actor Christopher Reeve—Superman himself—in 1999. Once renovated, the home will serve as a safe, inclusive group home for individuals with developmental disabilities.
The Arc of Southwest Georgia has set a fundraising goal of $50,000–$100,000. Community members and businesses can get involved in several ways:
-
Become a Sponsor
-
Donate to the Silent Auction
-
Provide an In-Kind Gift
-
Purchase Tickets to Attend
Details on each of these opportunities can be found at: thearcswga.org/meals-with-a-mission/.
“Every hero needs a mission, and this is ours,” said [Executive Director, Byrd Sullivan]. “With community support, we can transform the House of Hope into a space that empowers and uplifts the people we serve.”
