Albany Area YMCA Names Tony Duckworth as New CEO

The Albany Area YMCA has named Tony Duckworth as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 12th, 2025. Selected by the Y’s Board of Directors, following a 5-month search, Duckworth will succeed Dan Gillan, who will be stepping down on May 30th, 2025. In his new role, Tony will be responsible for taking the lead on the Y’s upcoming capital campaign, increasing membership, increasing family programming, developing donor relations and community partnerships, representing the YMCA in securing grants and cultivating philanthropic support, etc.

Tony currently serves at Syneos Health, where he has served as the Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist for the past 2 years. While there, Tony is in the top 2% of national sales. Prior to Syneos Health, Tony worked for Albany State University, Northeastern State University, and Maryville University. Tony holds a Master of Education from University of Tennessee and Bachelor’s Degree from Bob Jones University.
