The Arc of Southwest Georgia Board of Directors has named Byrd Sullivan as The Arc of Southwest Georgia’s new Executive Director effective as of July 29th. Sullivan comes to The Arc of Southwest Georgia most recently from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as their Quality Improvement Specialist, but he has a long history in healthcare including experience in home health care, medical sales, and pharmacy management.
Sullivan earned bachelor’s degrees in business management and psychology as well as his master’s degree in business administration. After college, he worked for his family’s accounting firms as the Operations Manager beginning his career in Executive Leadership. After, he transitioned into the pharmaceutical sales industry, joining Proctor and Gamble as the District Sales Manager. He has also served as the Executive Manager for Rescare Home Health before transitioning to Option Care Health as their Director of Operations. Following the birth of his son, Will, who was born with Cerebral Palsy, Sullivan and his wife developed a strong drive to help others in need. They opened their own independent pharmacy, The Pharmhouse, built out of passion to be a resource for their community and a way to help people with disabilities which has become their life’s mission because of their son.
The Board of Directors are excited about Mr. Sullivan’s vision for The Arc of Southwest Georgia and are eager to be working alongside of him to continue the success of The Arc. His leadership experience and fresh perspective are exciting, as he will introduce innovative strategies that will enhance our mission to support people with disabilities.
“Having the opportunity to expound on our personal passion here at The Arc of Southwest Georgia, I can’t tell you how big of a blessing and appreciated opportunity it is for me. I want nothing more than to make The Arc of Southwest Georgia first class and create a team here that is highly efficient, loving and caring for each other and for the individuals we care for” says Sullivan.
