Slim Chickens, a leader in the “better chicken” segment of fast-casual restaurants, will continue expansion of its all-natural, fresh chicken and unrivaled flavor in Georgia, with its newest opening at 2533 Dawson Rd. in Albany on July 22nd.

Peachtree Development & Investments partners Jim Bennett and Rusty Skalla, a local resident, have been business partners for several years, developing single-tenant commercial properties, specifically in the quick-service restaurant space. In addition to Slim Chickens, the group also owns a Del Taco in Warner Robins. Bennett, an Augusta local and Skalla, whose hometown is Albany, first discovered the “better chicken” concept through one of their company's clients who were opening restaurants throughout the Florida Panhandle and Southeast. After learning more about the brand’s delicious chicken and Southern-inspired sides, the development company signed on to open 15 units within Georgia and South Carolina. Peachtree Development & Investments opened its first location in Evans, followed by Statesboro earlier this year, and will now be opening Georgia’s third location in Albany this July.

“Albany is my hometown, and when the opportunity arose for us to introduce our community to Slim Chickens, we jumped on it! We pride ourselves on being heavily invested in the community we live in, and are excited to share the Slim Chickens experience with everyone,” said Skalla.

Aside from bringing its famous, delicious fried chicken and Southern-inspired sides to the area, the new Slim Chickens location in Albany will also make a positive economic impact with over 75 new jobs anticipated for creation in the community.

The Albany opening is one piece in Slim Chickens’ larger growth story. Since its founding in 2003, the brand has celebrated over 250 locations opened and a fanatical following in 34 U.S. states, as well as international locations in the United Kingdom, with an overall goal of opening 600 restaurants within the next decade. In Georgia alone, the brand has already grown tremendously to three locations.

“Our freshly made southern dishes and homemade recipes create loyal guests who feel good about the food they’re eating and we’re proud to be able to grow our loyal fan base into the Albany market,” said Slim Chickens Chief Operating Officer Sam Rothschild.

By focusing on providing only 100% all-natural chicken tenders that are buttermilk-marinated, hand-breaded and always cooked fresh-to-order, the brand has committed to providing a “better chicken” experience that can’t be found anywhere else. In addition, a choice of 14 housemade sauces adds exceptional flavor and has earned admiration from both guests and critics alike. Slim Chickens also offers fresh sandwiches, salads, wraps and its signature chicken and waffles. To offset the savory side of the menu, rotating desserts served in Mason jars are also available.
