Molson Coors recently announced a $50,000 donation to create an endowed scholarship at Albany State University in Molson Coors’ Albany, Georgia, brewery community. This contribution is part of Molson Coors’ larger $1.5 million investment to a network of North American BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of color) organizations that are dedicated to increasing equitable access to higher education, economic opportunity, and social justice.
“At Molson Coors, we are passionate about brewing a brighter future for the next generation of diverse talent inside and outside our industry,” said Michael Nordman, senior manager of community affairs, Molson Coors. “We are especially proud to partner with a great higher education institution like Albany State University which sits in the backyard of our hometown Albany brewery.”
Through the program, Molson Coors and Albany State University aim to provide annual scholarships and create a career pathway for students seeking degrees related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Molson Coors is also creating an endowed scholarship within another one of the company’s brewery communities of Trenton, Ohio with Butler Tech.
“ASU would like to thank Molson Coors for their generous support to our students,” said Valerie Melton, vice president for university advancement and executive director of the ASU Foundation. “The creation of this endowment will create much needed scholarships for our students.”
