Delta Upgrades Planes Flying Out of the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport

Staff Report

Monday, May 1st, 2023

Delta will begin using larger aircraft to fly people in and out of Albany beginning Monday, May 1, 2023. Passengers have been boarding a CRJ-200, which comes with less space, fewer seats, and does not offer a first-class option. The new planes that will take off and land at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport will either be a CRJ-700 or a CRJ-900.

Here are the differences between the three aircraft.

According to Delta, passengers will also have more space and can expect a more reliable plane when flying in and out of the Good Life City.

With the additional seating these aircraft offer, Delta will also adjust the schedule of departures at the airport. Beginning Monday, instead of three departures at 7:52 a.m., 12:51 p.m., and 5:05 p.m., Delta will only depart at 7:45 a.m. and 5:05 p.m.

One of the new planes will arrive in Albany Sunday evening and take off for its first trip out of our airport Monday morning.
