Procter & Gamble, one of Albany’s largest manufacturing employers, takes the spotlight as this month’s “#MadeInAlbanyGA” feature, an industry marketing campaign produced by the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission.
Albany’s P&G plant, the producer of Bounty paper towels and Charmin toilet tissue, both billiondollar brands for the company, currently employees an estimated 650 associates and is preparing to add another 40 to that total by Summer 2017.
“P&G’s addition of 40 new employees makes a big statement, not only about Albany-Dougherty County’s suitability as a manufacturing location, but also about the capability of our workforce,” says ADEDC President Justin Strickland. “The Albany plant has always been a valuable contributor to the P&G global network and the upcoming expansion will only further solidify that.”
Albany’s P&G plant is the primary supplier of Bounty and Charmin products to the Southeastern United States and Puerto Rico.
In addition to its production role, P&G Albany is also a development site for Charmin products, responsible for gauging consumer needs and translating those needs into product innovation.
