Cancer Coalition to Honor Lem and Linda Griffin for Fourth Annual Night for Hope Gala
Monday, November 7th, 2016
The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia will host its fourth annual Night for Hope fundraising gala on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany. The Cancer Coalition continues its local fight against cancer, now under the new name of Horizons Community Solutions.
The 2017 gala proudly honors husband and wife cancer survivors, Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel and Linda Griffin. The elegant celebration includes a plated dinner, live and silent auctions, and live musical entertainment.
Different from national cancer organizations, every penny donated to the Cancer Coalition stays here to help our community. You are invited to make a difference by attending the event, being a sponsor, or donating auction items. You also may place a memorial/honorarium for a loved one or a business ad in the program booklet.
Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel and Linda Griffin are steadfast champions of the Albany area, admired philanthropists and beloved community members. In 2004, Mrs. Griffin successfully overcame breast cancer and six years later, Mr. Griffin was treated for bladder cancer, which then reoccurred in 2012.
Both now cancer-free, the Griffins are long time and passionate supporters of Horizons Community Solutions’ ongoing work against cancer through its Cancer Coalition. With the community’s support, we will be able to honor Mr. and Mrs. Griffin and all local families touched by cancer, and continue our health navigation and cancer screenings, education, community research, and support for local survivors.
Cancer Coalition CEO Diane Fletcher said, “We are thrilled to have this highly respected and dearly loved couple as our 2017 Night for Hope honorees! I challenge everyone to become involved, so we can exceed our fundraising goals and continue our local, lifesaving work against cancer.”
Fletcher stated, “We are grateful to our corporate partners Keystone Foods/Equity Group, Southeastern Credit Union, DOCO Credit Union, Georgia Power, and Regions Bank, and to the event’s sponsors thus far: SafeAire Heating & Cooling, Albany Technical College and Procter & Gamble.”
Cancer Coalition officials are seeking additional business and family sponsorships, business advertisements and memorial/honorariums for loved ones as well as auction donations.
