Albany to Join the X-League Football

While the start of the 2015 season is only a couple of months away, the X-League has already started to expand for the 2016 season, the latest member of the league being Albany, GA, the league announced .This gives the league a total of 11 teams for the 2016 campaign.

“We are excited to have Albany join the X-League,” said X-League Commissioner Michael Mink. “This begins our expansion for the 2016 season historically early.”

Justin Andrews, CEO of the ownership group for the new team, is also happy to be a part of the X-League. “We are extremely excited to be bringing X-League football to South Georgia for the 2016 season,” he said. “This is the fastest growing league in the sport and we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of that growth.”

Mink says that Andrews and his group, who will be having an online contest to name the team, will be a great asset for the league. “He and his ownership partners are going to be a credit to the league,” said Mink. “They will bring new entertainment opportunities to all of our member teams.”

Andrews echoed Mink’s enthusiasm. “We feel confident that this will be a huge success for all involved,” added Andrews. “The X-League is known for top-notch professional talent, and with our location we are excited to expose the football stars of tomorrow. We can’t wait to compete with the best athletes and coaching staffs in the country.”
