Bill Lovvorn, General Manager for America's Home Place in Albany, talks about the housing industry - which has over the past few years earned reputation for being a scary process for most people.

Hi, I'm Bill Lovvorn, and I'm the General Manager with America's Home Place, here in Albany. I'm delighted to talk to you today about our industry as a whole. Our industry has, probably, a well earned reputation for being a scary process for most people. Most people are concerned that their price won't be the same when their house is finished. At America's Home Place, we'll give you a fixed price, it'll never change.

Most people are concerned that builders will cut corners. Certainly, those concerns are well founded within our industry over the years. America's Home Place will celebrate our 40th anniversary next year, and I can promise you, we've never cut a corner.

The other issue that people talk to me about is warranty. Yes, we offer a one year warranty, like most builders. Many of the products have longer warranties offered by the manufacturers.

In 2007, I was asked to join America's Home Place. I've known the owner and upper management for years and years, outside of America's Home Place, and I've always been impressed with the fact that they really do make decisions about taking care of people's homes like they would make about their own. If we did something wrong, we're going to take care of it.

As the housing crisis has continued, the good side of that is, some of the builders who created such a bad reputation nationally have been forced out of business. Only the good ones have survived. We wouldn't still be here had we not spent the last 40 years taking care of our customers.

Word of mouth is still the strongest form of advertising. Our home sites speak for themselves and our customers speak for themselves. We'll do everything humanly possible to keep that going.

We're America's Home Place, the home you want, where you want it. Check us out on the web at americashomeplace.com, or stop by and see us on Westover in Albany across the street from Home Depot.
