Hi, I’m John Inman, CEO of the Veranda Medical Group. We’re based in Albany Georgia and have been in practice here since 1952. We’ve grown from one physician to a large multi-specialty group consisting of obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, family practice and endocrinology. Our practice is focused on just on women but in the whole families and over the last 10 years we’ve evolved more toward a preventive medicine perspective.

We have some things recently happening here at the Veranda that I think are very exciting, working toward wellness with all our patients. We made a decision approximately 10 years ago to bring a health spa into town and while it’s more of a day spa scenario right now it’s moving toward a medical spa. We see this as fitting in with the modern philosophy of wellness.

We’ve recently partnered with The Center for Medical Weight Loss which is a national firm involved with health and weight management. This has been an exciting time and as of to date the practice and its participants have lost over 2,000 pounds. We’re very excited with how well this has been received by our patients.

Our main focus has been on our patients and patient convenience in providing quality, I feel exceptional medical care. One of the things we have been able to do over the last few years is bring a lot of diagnostic work into the office and this is a very exciting thing for us. Not only are we able to offer digital mammography and state-of-the-art imaging, but we’re also offering many new in-office surgical procedures which I think are very exciting for our patients from a convenience point of view. Two that especially I am proud that we’re performing our Endometrial Ablation for women with abnormal uterine bleeding. This precludes the need for hysterectomy many times, and certainly has turned into a one or two hour experience here at the office which has been well received.
