Albany Technical College ribbon cutting for their new Logistics Education Center

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

Wendy Howell of Albany Technical College shares event info for the upcoming ribbon cutting celebration of their latest building as they continue to grow even during a economic recession.

My name is Wendy Howell; I’m with Albany Technical College. And I want to talk to you a little bit today about the Grand Opening of our new Logistics Education Center on Tuesday, June 14, at 3:00 p.m. We’re going to have a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 3:00 with our Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner, Ron Jackson, speaking along with some local and state representatives.

We will also have Colonel Terrance Reed, with the Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, to say a few words on behalf of the opening of the new building.

We’d love for you to come out and see the growth Albany Tech is experiencing along with the relevance we are continuing to establish in the Southwest Georgia community. The new Logistics Center will have a new media center, executive board room, logistics education auditorium, there’s so many things to offer and we’d love to have you come and tour the building on June 14.

In addition to the opening of the new building, we’ll also be rolling out a new logo for Albany Tech, so you’ll get to see… have a sneak peak at the new logo as we start implementing that into the new building and continue to implement it throughout the campus… throughout the rest of the calendar year.

We’ll also host the business after hours for the Albany area Chamber of Commerce at 5:30 p.m. following the ribbon cutting. So we hope you’ll come out and join us for that as well. It’s just an exciting time in Albany that day as we open the new building and we hope to see you there.
