City of Albany to Host its Second Meet Your City Event

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Thursday, April 18th, 2024

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, the City of Albany will host its second “Meet Your City” event to answer the question: What does the City do for you?

Meet Your City will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center, 100 W. Oglethorpe Boulevard.

There will be 20 City departments, several of our City partners, and other organizations to help residents discover all of the services and resources available to them.

The City of Albany will also host a job fair during Meet Your City. Our HR Department will be available to help attendees access the online application and apply for available positions. Department staff will also be on hand to host on-the-spot interviews. Those who apply and interview could be offered a job on-site pending a background check and drug screening.

Attendees will enjoy music provided by DJ Dollar Bill, games, vendors like Kona Ice, Bee Smoothie, JC Wingz, and San Joes, and a live remote with WJIZ.

We will also give away over $500 prizes during the event.

This will be a family-friendly event with Albany Fire Department and Albany Police Department vehicles for kids to explore.

We encourage the entire community to come out and see what the City of Albany is doing for you.
