Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, April 22nd, 2024

The Georgia FBLA Collegiate chapter at Albany Technical College was proud to send four students to the state-wide competitive FBLA Collegiate conference on April 12- 13, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. This conference included competitors from many of Georgia's technical colleges and a few universities. During the conference, students were able to network with colleagues, employers, and advisers from all over Georgia, attend professional workshops, and compete in various events.

Georgia FBLA Collegiate recognized the top five competitors during the April 13, 2024, closing awards ceremony.

Our Titans walked across the stage five times!

· Makyla Bell placed 5th in the Project Management event (Business Management student.)

· Patrick Deariso, Jr. placed 2nd in the Foundations of Marketing event (Marketing Management student.)

· Brandi Kitt placed 2nd in two events: Computer Applications and Business Communications (Design & Media Productions student.)

· Timothy Perry placed 5th in the Public Speaking event (Business Healthcare student.)

The advisers for FBLA Collegiate at Albany Technical College are Nicole Lane and Kristel Baranko. "There's not much the two of us can do alone. This chapter belongs to the students – they work hard – and it takes every faculty and staff member these students interact with to prepare them for competition throughout the year. We thank all ATC Titans for getting our students competition and workforce ready," stated Mrs. Lane.

Mr. Deariso and Miss Kitt qualify to advance to the National Leadership Conference (and competition) hosted in Orlando, Florida, June 24 – 27, 2024. "This past weekend was only the first step. There's more work for these students to ensure they are ready for the next level," said Mrs. Baranko.
