Who Will Be The King/Queen of Cuisine? YOU Decide!

Friday, July 28th, 2023

We’re cooking up community inclusion for Southwest Georgians with disabilities! The Arc of Southwest Georgia invites the community to join them on August 31, 2023 for a local- celebrity chef cookoff fundraiser, Meals with a Mission: Inclusive Kitchen.

Meals with a Mission attendees will be able to sample delicious entrées and desserts from each competing chef and get to vote on their favorite! Attendees will also be able to enjoy a silent auction, live music, cash bar and more.

Though the evening will be filled with fun, Meals with a Mission will more importantly raise awareness for the challenges and needs of Southwest Georgians with disabilities, as well as be a visible show of support and allow the community to join the fight for disability inclusion.

100% of proceeds will support Southwest Georgians with disabilities to live, work, and play in the community, how they choose.

“I think people have forgotten that not too long ago, persons with disabilities were removed from society and placed into institutions, because they did not understand that with the rights supports, persons with disabilities can live rich and fulfilling lives. We have come a long way since then, especially with pieces of legislation like the Americans with Disabilities Act, but we still have a long way to go. Although our organization works tirelessly for the disability community, we cannot do this work alone. Meals with a Mission will be a fun opportunity for our community to learn more about what we do and who we serve, while also giving them the opportunity to get involved” said Jasmine Willoughby, Director of Marketing and Development.

Founded in 1963 as Albany ARC (Advocacy Resource Center), The Arc of Southwest Georgia, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, celebrates 60 years of creating life-changing solutions for Southwest Georgians with intellectual and development disabilities.

The Arc of Southwest Georgia provides supportive care services, while also advocating for the needs of those with disabilities, and those who care for them.

Since its founding, The Arc of Southwest Georgia has grown to serve over 650 individuals with disabilities across 15 Southwest Georgia counties and is looking to expand services.
