Albany State University Celebrates 120th Founder's Day with Week of Events

Albany State University (ASU) will celebrate the 120th Founder’s Day with a week of events beginning Saturday, March 25 – Saturday, April 1. The week of events will include the ASU Royal Court Competition, Spring into the Arts: Paint and Chalk the Walkway and more!
Included in the week of events will be the Rams in the Bush Student and Alumni Networking event hosted by the Office of Career Services. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on the East campus in the Dr. Joseph W. Holley Fine Arts Center. This event will provide students with the opportunity to meet some of our outstanding alumni who are in a position to help them begin their careers.

On Friday, March 31, will be the Founder’s Day Convocation featuring Rutha Mae Harris, ASU alumna (’70) and Original Freedom Singer, as the guest speaker. Immediately following the convocation, we will have our gravesite ceremony in honor of our founder.

The week will conclude with the event of the season, the ASU Foundation Blue and Gold Scholarship Gala on Saturday, April 1. The event will take place on the Lawn of the L. Orene Hall Building located on East Campus. Cocktail hour will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the program and awards ceremony at 6 p.m.

The theme for the Gala is Southern Chic - Derby Style. Guests should arrive in derby-inspired attire. Additional attire information may be found in the Gala Attire Guide.
