Albany/Dougherty Juneteenth Committee Asks Commission to Sponsor Celebration

On Monday morning at the Dougherty County Commission meeting, a representative from the Albany/ Dougherty Juneteenth Committee was present to see if the county would consider sponsoring the celebration.
Committee Representative, Frank Wilson said that with Juneteenth being made a national holiday last year, it made sense to put all resources together to present the idea for a big celebration.
Wilson went on to explain how this event would be a major economic development for the area, as he expected it to be the biggest event for the holiday in Southwest, GA. See more here.
