Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols Named 'Innovator of the Year'

The Smart Grid Customer Education Symposium has chosen Georgia Public Service Commission Vice Chairman Tim Echols as its “Innovator of the Year” in the 2021 Game Changers Awards.

The award will be presented on June 8 during the Smart Grid Customer Education Symposium’s 10th Annual event to be held virtually. Details an information on registration can be found at www.smartgridcustomereducation.com.

This is another of several honors for Commissioner Echols who has previously been named the Solar Architect for Georgia, part of the Dynamic Duo for EVs and received the Nuclear Trailblazer award from United States Nuclear Infrastructure Council. Echols’ has long been a champion of solar energy, electric vehicles, nuclear power, and customer rate savings through self-education of home energy usage.

In this most recent honor Commissioner Echols was chosen for his “dedication to both innovation and customer engagement.”

“I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Commissioner Echols,” said PSC Chairman Chuck Eaton. “He has a boundless curiosity when it comes to energy generation and our grid. Tim is constantly traveling our state educating our citizens.”
