At Georgia Power, helping the next generation is an important part of the company’s mission in supporting the state’s communities.
Recently, the company renewed its support of the Posse Foundation with a $10,000 donation to support talented students from diverse backgrounds so they can become the next CEOs, educators, social entrepreneurs or STEM innovators.
For more than 30 years, Posse has identified and trained young people with extraordinary potential who might be missed by elite schools. Their program places students in supportive, multicultural groups of 10 students — “Posses.” With mentoring and full-tuition leadership scholarships from partner colleges, Posse Scholars graduate at a rate of 90 percent. As alumni, they are well prepared and positioned for success.
