United Way of Southwest Georgia to host free Racial Equity 101 Virtual Work Session for Albany-Dougherty County
Tuesday, January 26th, 2021
Now that the elections are behind us, it is time for the healing of our community to begin. As most of you all are aware, United Way of Southwest Georgia has partnered with The Sapelo Foundation to tackle the hard topic of racial equity in Albany, GA. We have been in the beginning phase but now the real work begins. On Saturday, January 30, we will hold our first work session titled, Racial Equity 101. It will be from 9 am to 12 pm and all within the comfort of your home. The workshop is designed to educate, equip and engage the Albany community. We understand that in order to build a beloved community, it will take time and require thoughtful, intentional leadership. It also requires that we grapple with difficult issues, like equity, that currently face our community and country. A professional, highly respected organization, Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE), will facilitate the workshop that will feature opportunities for self-reflection, interactive discussions, and the chance to identify personal action steps that lead to a more inclusive community – a community where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to thrive.
Registration is open at the following link: https://www.
