The Dougherty County School System’s Graduation Rate remains above 80% for the fifth-straight year, data from the Georgia Department of Education shows, despite disruption of the fourth nine-weeks period by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Overall, the district’s four-year graduation rate was 83.3%, which nearly mirrored the state’s average of 83.8%. 

Westover Comprehensive High School had the highest four-year graduation rate at 88.10%, followed by Dougherty Comprehensive High School at 82.92% with Monroe Comprehensive High School at 79.59%. 

Despite the pandemic, five-year graduation rates among all three high schools increased, with Westover at 91.44%, Monroe at 87.97%  and Dougherty at 87.85%. The district’s five-year rate was 87.28%.

“Again, the diligence and dedication of our teachers and building leaders, combined with the commitment of our students have led to hundreds of students earning their high school diplomas, associate degrees and/or technical certifications, and I couldn’t be more proud of their hard work,” Superintendent Kenneth Dyer said. “We’ll continue to support every student with a rigorous and relevant education to ensure they graduate well-prepared to take advantage of the  opportunities that await them when they leave the Dougherty County School System.”
