Dougherty County Voter Registration and Elections Office is urging absentee ballot voters to avoid mailing their absentee ballots for the 2020 Election, but to instead to either utilize absentee ballot drop boxes located throughout Dougherty County or to bring absentee ballots to the Voter Registration and Elections Office at 222 Pine Avenue, Second Floor, Room 220, in downtown Albany, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Absentee Ballot drop box locations in Dougherty County include: East Albany at Tallulah Massey Li- brary Branch, 2004 Stratford Drive; South Albany at Southside Library Branch, 2114 Habersham Road; Northwest Albany at the Northwest Library Branch, 2507 Dawson Road; and Central Location in downtown Albany at the Government Center at 222 Pine Avenue. As required by State of Georgia Law, these drop boxes are under surveillance 24/7 at each location and will be accessible up to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

“We want all Dougherty County voters to know that given the COVID-19 pandemic, all mail and de- livery services are still delayed and we want to ensure our voters that their absentee ballot reaches our office in time to be counted,” said Ginger Nickerson, Elections Supervisor for the Dougherty County Voter Registration and Elections Office. “By utilizing the absentee ballot boxes or bringing the ballots by our office, we can better assure that these ballots will be received and counted in a timely manner.”

For questions regarding early voting, or any other voting questions, citizens are urged to contact the Dougherty County Voter Registration and Elections office at 229.431.3247 or visit their page on the Dougherty County website at Dougherty.ga.us.
