The State of Georgia, Department of Public Health, the Georgia National Guard and Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security (GEMA), in partnership with Augusta University, will be opening a COVID19 testing site beginning Sunday, April 26, 2020, in Dougherty County.

The additional site will be located at the 100 block of Mercer Avenue, behind the Albany Civic Center, and will operate seven days per week from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily. This testing site will be taking the place of the current testing site located at Phoebe Health Systems.

Registration is requested in advance by calling the Augusta University COVID19 Virtual Hotline at 706.721.1852, or by visiting the website at augustahealth.org/COVID19. An app is also available in the App Store by searching for AU Health ExpressCare. Although registration is requested, it is not required to be seen at the site. Walk-ups will also be accepted.

Augusta University officials anticipate test results to the patients in less than two days. Results will be available by calling the hotline, checking the app, if used to schedule the test, or visiting the patient portal. Tests results will be reported for Dougherty and any residents from the surrounding counties to the Department of Public Health.
