Revised Albany and Dougherty County Shelter-In-Place Order Released

Mayor Bo Dorough, City of Albany, and Chairman Christopher S. Cohilas, Dougherty County Board of Commissioners, updated the current Shelter-In-Place order that would allow the temporary purchase of alcohol with food orders. The order is in effect through 11:59 p.m. on April 7, 2020, unless it is extended, rescinded, superseded, or amended in writing by the Mayor and Chairman.

With the revised order, the City of Albany and Dougherty County will allow the temporary purchase
of alcohol with food orders for Dougherty County businesses licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for
on-premise consumption the same opportunity to do so in a takeout capacity. Restaurant owners
and managers would be allowed to provide pickup service for food, with alcoholic beverages to those persons of age until 9 p.m. All alcoholic beverages must be in a sealed container and photo ID must be checked.
