Staff Report From Albany CEO

Tuesday, February 25th, 2020

Dougherty County Board of Commissioners District 6 Commissioner, Anthony Jones, will help residents to launch a brand-new Neighborhood Watch Group at North County Line Road on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at God’s Foundation Christian Academy, 905 South County Line Road, Albany, Georgia.

The new North County Line Neighborhood Watch Group is comprised of citizens residing on Gaissert Road, Thomas Road, Fleming Road, citizens north of Spring Flats Road, and surrounding areas in this portion of Dougherty County. The Tuesday meeting is specifically designed to launch the new group and to inform neighbors of the work being done on their behalf by Commissioner Jones and the Dougherty County Board of Commissioners as a whole.

With nearly 100 Neighborhood Watch Groups already in existence in Albany and Dougherty County, the importance of the support of neighbors coming together to keep their homes and neighborhoods safe, continues to grow. The National Neighborhood Watch program empowers citizens to become active in community efforts through participation in Neighborhood Watch groups and ultimately, draws upon the compassion of average citizens, asking them to lend their neighbors a hand.

“We invite these citizens to join us on Tuesday evening and come prepared to ask questions pertaining
to county government,” said Commissioner Anthony Jones, District 6, Dougherty County. “This meeting is open to not just the residents of this area, but any Dougherty County citizens who would like to attend and get their questions answered.”
