Albany Technical College Holds Employer Transportation Workforce Event Tuesday

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Tuesday, February 25th, 2020

Albany Technical College (ATC) will hold its fifth Employer Workforce Outreach event on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Kirkland Conference Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and ATC programs will have various displays with admissions representatives available to answer questions in advance of the meeting.

ATC understands the need to connect employers with ATC students and graduates and the community to discuss what area employers look for in hiring potential employees. This forum will focus on the areas of Auto Collision Repair, Automotive, Commercial Truck Driving and Diesel Equipment, where a panel of employers will discuss the desired qualities and traits they are looking for in potential employees, as well as the workforce demand within the industry.

“This is an opportunity where employers can share employment information with job seekers. We hope that those individuals will consider the Albany Transportation Academy programs that will prepare them for an entry-level position within the industry,” said Dr. Emmett Griswold, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The employer panel for this event will consist of representatives from Master Body Works, Prince Chevrolet, Southern AG and Schneider.

Programs offered by ATC at the Albany Transportation Academy include Auto Collision Repair Technology, Automotive Technology, Commercial Truck Driving and Diesel Equipment Technology.

ATC plans to host workforce events, focusing on various employment fields continually.
