Staff Report From Albany CEO

A group of generous Partners in Excellence and employees at Martin Luther King Jr., Elementary School made Christmas come a little early for students at the school Monday.

Bicycles, scooters and toys of just about every kind were laid out in the school’s gym Monday afternoon. The names of students were then drawn from a hat and they were allowed to pick from among the cache of Christmas delights, with a few lucky students walking away with a brand new bicycle.

“We’re so grateful to the generous spirit of our partners and our employees who helped to support this effort to make sure our students had a bright send-off into the Christmas break,” Principal Barbara Harvey said.

Partners donating to the effort included Sunbelt Fordtown of Albany, Rabbitman’s Footwear and The Albany Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.
