Shoe Station to Host United Way Day Fundraiser

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Friday, June 7th, 2019

Shoe Station will host its second annual United Way Day Fundraiser Saturday in its 21 locations across the Southeast.

Officials said the retail chain is donating one dollar for every pair of sandals, shoes and boots sold. United Way locations in Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia will be the beneficiaries of the fundraiser.

The format of the fundraiser ensures that Shoe Station’s donation will increase with each pair sold, and there is no cap on the donation. Customers will also be given the opportunity to make an additional donation to United Way.

“We are pleased to sponsor this large fundraising effort for United Way organizations in five states,” Shoe Station President and CEO Brent Barkin said.

Last year’s Shoe Station United Way Day raised $7,221.

United Way improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. Shoe Station, an independent shoe retailer, was founded in 1984 in Mobile, and is a long-time contributor to United Way of Southwest Alabama.
