ASU Celebrates Faculty, Staff Service and Commitment at 2019 Employee Recognition Awards

Albany State University (ASU) honored more than 80 faculty and staff members for their many years of service and dedicated efforts to the success of the university.

During the 2019 Employee Recognition Awards, held Thursday, April 25, employees celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 years of service were recognized. Employee spotlights were also acknowledged.

“It is always our pleasure to recognize our employees,” said Kimberly Carter, Human Resources director. “Hard work and dedication to the university and community is appreciated by all. Congratulations to all of our award recipients!”

Two employees were recognized for 40 years of service. This year’s honorees were David Lawrence, who works in the University Print Shop, and Patricia Holtz, who works in Emergency Medical Services.

Faculty and staff members also nominated their peers for employee spotlights Award recipients continually illustrate excellent service to the community and dedication to Albany State University. The recipients of the Employee Spotlight Awards are listed below.

Teacher of the Year:

Scholars of the Year:

Dr. Patrick Whitehead, Sociology and Psychology

Dr. Liqui Zheng, Chemistry and Forensic Science

Staff Member of the Year:

 Mrs. Cheryl Mosely, Honors Program

Adjunct Faculty of the Year:

Dr. Debra Wiley, Teacher Education

Online Faculty of the Year:

Dr. Sarah Kuck, History and Political Science

Emerging Junior Faculty of the Year:

Dr. Pamela Pitman Brown, Sociology and Psychology

Emerging Staff Member of the Year:

Mr. Corey Morgan, Admissions and Recruitment (Pictured)
