Albany Tech Holds Spring Capping and Pinning Thursday

Albany Technical College will hold Health Care Technology Capping and Pinning for spring on Thursday, May 2, 2019, beginning at 6:00 pm in the Kirkland Conference Center. Keynote speaker for the program will be Dr. Bianca Kierce, Nurse Practitioner / Cardiology at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Bianca Kierce, a native of New Haven, Connecticut, was raised in Williston, Florida where she graduated with Honors from Williston High School in 2002. She attended the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in Nursing with a minor in Health Services Administration.

She began her nursing career at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. After two years, she accepted a position at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as a Float Nurse giving her the opportunity to work on 13 different specialty units. She earned a master’s degree in Nursing in Adult-Gerontology and Women’s Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014, and a Post-Master’s Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. In April of 2018, she completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in addition to a teaching certificate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the #8 program in the country, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

With over 10 years of nursing experience, she currently serves as adjunct didactic and clinical faculty at Albany Technical College in the Associate of Nursing Program. She is a published author, clinical researcher, speaker, and rising educator. She currently practices at Phoebe Cardiology as a nurse practitioner with dual inpatient and outpatient responsibility. She is the mother to one son Ladis Ross, in addition to her fur baby Blake Carter. She is an active member of Majestic Kingdom Embassy in Camilla, Georgia and enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and community outreach.
