The Georgia Chamber of Commerce hosted a successful and informational breakfast with the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Ajit Pai. The breakfast was held for all legislators and Chamber members.

The Georgia Chamber was honored to also recognize Dominque Wilkins, Hall of Fame NBA All-Star and former Atlanta Hawks player, as a featured guest.

“I appreciated the opportunity to speak with local community leaders about what the FCC is doing, including our work to bridge the digital divide, pave the way for 5G deployment, and enable more Atlantans to participate in the digital economy,” said Chairman Pai.  “I was also pleased to speak alongside Dominique Wilkins, who has become a role model for technology entrepreneurs in Georgia and across the country.”

The breakfast included remarks from Chairman Ajit Pai who discussed the 5G technology strategy for America. He also discussed ways that internet access can promote growth within the economy and how Georgia can invest in communication infrastructure.

“Georgia’s economy has potential and opportunity for growth, including a larger participation within the digital strategy. We are excited for the efforts that are being made to bridge the digital divide for rural communities,” said Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Chamber.
