Representatives of Albany State University accepted Dougherty County School System students on site during a recruitment event Wednesday.

The event at the Albany High Complex allowed students from DCSS high schools to learn about Albany State, its programs and student life before speaking with school officials on topics ranging from financial aid to its various colleges.

Albany University President Marion Fedrick told the students that Albany State, which according to school officials is the largest Historically Black College or University in Georgia, offers a wide array of options for students seeking a next-level education.

Along with the president, Wednesday's event featured ASU's Gospel choir, drumline and cheerleaders as well as the heads of Financial Aid and Admissions.
