Hurricane Michael Debris Pickup Deadline for Second Pass Scheduled

Dougherty County was notified by FEMA/GEMA that the last day of debris pickup for the second pass would be Friday, January 11, 2019. Residents are encouraged to finalize the placement of debris on the right of way of their property as quickly as possible in order to meet the deadline of the second pass.

As of December 30, 2018, more than 770,000 cubic yards of vegetative debris had been removed from Dougherty County. Overall, more than 3,795,000 cubic yards of debris has been removed from the 13 southwest Georgia counties that are part of the FEMA debris removal mission assignment to the Corps of Engineers.

Crews began collecting debris again on January 2, 2019 and will continue efforts through the final second pass deadline of Friday, January 11, 2019.
