Albany Advocacy Resource Center’s board of directors has appointed DeAnna Julian as Executive Director.  After serving 2 years on Albany ARC’s board of directors, Julian was named ARC’s Deputy Director in July 2015.  She has recently been notified of her upcoming appointment to the ABLE Board of Directors for the State of Georgia, and she continues to serve as an advocate to area families seeking special-education guidance and support.

“We are very much looking forward to benefitting from the visionary leadership that DeAnna brings to our organization,” says Albany ARC board president, Sarah Kirk.  “She’s one of the strongest advocates in the region and, through this new role, will continue to dedicate her life to serving community members with disabilities and their loved ones.”

Having extensive family roots in the local area, Julian obtained her BSED in Special Education from Georgia Southwestern State University and her MS in Education and Transition Services from the University of Kansas.  She had a successful 16-year special-education career in Lee County before joining Albany ARC.
