2018 Class of Lee County High School Distinguished Alumni Announced

The Lee County High School Distinguished Alumni Program Committee is proud to announce the selection of the seven recipients of the 2018 LCHS Distinguished Alumni Award.

The purpose of this program is to recognize outstanding alumni who have maintained a high standard of excellence and distinguished themselves through their work, personal accomplishments, or in the lives of others.  These individuals exemplify the ideals of the Lee County School System and the community it serves, and serve as role models for current and future Lee County High School students.

            The 2018 Class of Distinguished Alumni are listed in alphabetical order:

                        Dr. David M. Banks, Class of 1981

                        Dr. James Reuben Clay, Class of 1946

                        Mr. Jared A. Dervan, Class of 2000

                        Mrs. Cynthia Cannon George, Class of 1974

                        Mr. John Gregory McClellan, Class of 1981

                        Dr. Renee Yvonne Thomas-Mays, Class of 1985

                        Mr. George Lawson Vann, Jr., Class of 1983

Our Distinguished Alumni will be recognized and honored during the September Homecoming festivities.  They will serve as Grand Marshals for the Homecoming Parade on Thursday, September 13. Following the Homecoming Parade, they will be honored at a banquet at The Bindery at Oakland Library.  Tickets will go on sale to the public in August.  On Friday, they will visit and speak with students in the Lee County School System. On Friday evening, they will be recognized on the field during the Homecoming pre-game festivities.
