National Youth Sports Program Begins June 4th

The registration deadline for the 2018 edition of the National Youth Sports Program is fast approaching.

The free camp will close registration on May 24.

NYSP will take place June 4-29 is scheduled to run from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. daily on Albany State’s East Campus. CLICK HERE for requirements and to register participants for this year’s camp. Parents and guardians may also pick up registration materials at the front information desk located on at the E-Building on West Campus and in HPER 206 on East Campus.

The program has existed in some variance at ASU since 1975. This season at Albany State University will provide an enriching four-week summer camp experience that combines sports activities, educational enrichment, nutrition and health services to more than 500 economically disadvantaged Dougherty County and surrounding community youth age 9 to 15 years old.
 
Physicals are mandatory and ASU will sponsor them for free May 22 from 4-6 p.m. at the East Albany Medical Center. There will also be a mandatory parent orientation on Thursday, May 24 from 6 - 8 p.m. at HPER Gymnasium on ASU’s East Campus.
 
During the four weeks of camp, youth participate in sports programs to improve their physical fitness and health habits. Participants also gain information about career choices and learn a great deal about academics on the university campus.
