Albany Technical College to Hold Employer Business & Hospitality Workforce Event Today

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Thursday, May 24th, 2018

Albany Technical College will hold its third Employer Workforce Outreach event on Thursday, May 24, 2018, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Kirkland Conference Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and ATC programs will have various displays with admissions representatives available to answer questions in advance of the meeting.

ATC realized the need to connect employers with ATC students and graduates and the community to discuss what area employers look for in hiring potential employees. This forum will focus on the areas of Accounting, Business Technology, Business Management, Marketing, Hotel/Restaurant/Tourism Management and Culinary, where a panel of employers will discuss the desired qualities and traits they are looking for in potential employees, as well as the workforce demand within the industry.

“This is just one way that employers can share employment information with job seekers. Our hope is that those individuals will consider the many programs ATC offers that will prepare them for an entry level position within the industry,” said Dr. Emmett Griswold, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The employer panel for this event will include employers from the Hilton Garden Inn, Cheddar’s, Dougherty County Government, Albany Police Department, Albany State University, Target and more.
Programs offered by ATC in the Business and Personal Services industries: Accounting, Business Technology, Business Healthcare Technology, Business Management, Marketing Management, Hotel/Restaurant/Tourism Management, and Culinary Arts.

ATC plans to continually host workforce events throughout the year, focusing on various employment fields.
