TUESDAY
 
6 pm: Time Time and a Half opens in the East Gallery of the Albany Museum of Art. This installation by Georgia Southwestern State University lecturer Justin Hodges, an interdisciplinary artist, reimagines Gustauve Courbet’s 1849 painting The Stonebreakers through large-scale photography and kinetic sculpture.  
 
7 pm: What Is Art?, a panel discussion at the Albany Museum of Art. The age-old question of what is art is addressed by a five-member panel: interdisciplinary artist Justin Hodges; Glenn Dasher, sculptor and retired dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Alabama in Hunstville, whose exhibition Monuments to Human Imperfection is currently showing in the AMA’s Haley Gallery; Paula Williams, executive director of the Albany Museum of Art; Rob Matre, owner of the Matre Gallery, and Femi Anderson, owner of Renaissance Art Café in Albany.
 
WEDNESDAY
 
10 am-noon: Glenn Dasher welding demo, Albany Technical College, 1704 S. Slappey Blvd., room 124 of Freedom Hall. Dasher, who uses welding skills in his sculpture work, will conduct a demonstration for students and the public.
 
6 pm-8 pm: Glenn Dasher Gallery Talk, Albany Museum of Art. Sculptor Dasher, the former dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, will offer insights into his exhibition in the Haley Gallery: Glenn Dasher: In Retrospection; Monuments to Human Imperfection.
 
SATURDAY
 
10 am-noon: Spring Family Day, Albany Museum of Art. This event for the whole family includes activities such as making Mother’s Day cards, creating art, a scavenger hunt, and games and activities.
