The Dougherty County Youth Orchestra placed first in a national music competition in Williamsburg, Va., earning excellent ratings from judges.

The group performed at the Music In the Parks festival in Williamsburg, which is part of a national series of competitive festivals and performance events for high schools across the country.

Maestro Alexander Reshetnichenko took 23 of the county’s top musicians to Virginia where they participated in a broad range of activities which culminated in their performance. The group was then treated to a day at Busch Gardens before returning home.
