Albany Technical College will hold a Dual Enrollment Pathways signing on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Logistics Education Center, Executive Board Room. Three Dual Enrollment students will sign at the ceremony to enter a university to complete bachelor’s degrees. Kayla Smith, a senior at Westover Comprehensive High School, is dual enrolled in the Business Management associate degree program at Albany Technical College. As a high school student, Kayla will graduate with honors in her class. She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, a 2018 Utilis Matronae Club Debutante, and a former Varsity Competition Cheerleader. Kayla has been a member of the Healthcare Occupations Students of America and Future Business Leaders of America. She is also active in the community, volunteering numerous hours at the Sally Wetherbee Adoption Center, Family Literacy Connections, and Century Pines/Evergreen Assisted Living. Kayla is an active member of Christian Life Missionary Baptist Church, where she has served as a member of the Praise Team under the leadership of Dr. Raymond Polite. She has applied to Kennesaw State University to enter the Nursing program. In May, she will find out if she has been accepted and plans to start at Kennesaw in the fall.

Gabrielle Webb, a senior at Monroe Comprehensive High School, is dual enrolled at Albany Tech in the Pharmacy Technology associate degree program. As a high school student, Gabrielle will graduate at the top of her class. She is an active member of the National Beta Club, Student Council, and the National Honor Society. During her three years at Albany High School, Gabrielle was a Peer Tutor and active in the Math Club, Beta Club, Science Club, and Health Careers Opportunity Program. She was an active member of the soccer team and a member of the Albany High School Marching Chiefs Band. During her junior year at Albany High, Gabrielle earned a spot in the District Band. She is an active volunteer with community events such as the Snickers Marathon, Jingle Bell Jog, and Martin Luther King community events. At her church, she serves as a Youth Usher and Worship Leader. Already licensed as a Pharmacy Technician, Gabrielle has applied to Kennesaw State University to enter the Biology program. Later this month, she will find out if she has been accepted and plans to start at Kennesaw in the fall.

Akendai Womack, a senior at Dougherty Comprehensive High School, is dual enrolled at Albany Tech in the Business Logistics Management associate degree program. A 2018 member of Jack and Jill of America Le Beautillion Militaire, Akendai is also active in Future Business Leaders of America. He has participated in many activities in the community and church, and he was a nominee for the Work Ethics Award at Albany Tech during fall semester 2017. Akendai has applied to Georgia Military College to enter the Supply Chain Management program. In the coming weeks, he will find out if he has been accepted and plans to start at Georgia Military College in the fall. Dr. Anthony O. Parker, President of Albany Technical College, commented,
