Dougherty High Student Volunteers Mingle with Mayor/Honored for Volunteerism

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Wednesday, February 28th, 2018

Dougherty Comprehensive High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and CTI (Career, Technical Instruction) participated in the annual Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful Luncheon on January 11 at the Albany Civic Center.

The purpose of the luncheon was to honor local award recipients who had contributed numerous volunteer hours and service to our local community. The students participate in this important luncheon/project annually.

In addition, they have the opportunity to network with local public officials. Students learn the importance of volunteerism and earn community service hours by participating in a local clean-up project on Pearce Avenue and Massey Drive. The project is completed in April each year during the annual KADB community event.

The advisers are Mrs. D. Lewis and Mrs. T. Canty.
