Staff Report From Albany CEO

Thursday, January 18th, 2018

The City of Americus Main Street & Americus Downtown Development Authority have received notice of making the Top 10 for Season 3 of Small Business Revolution–Main Street.

The announcement was made by Jenna Paulus, public relations manager of Deluxe, a Minneapolis-based company that is sponsoring the competition.  The show Small Business Revolution—Main Street is hosted by Amanda Brinkman (Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Deluxe Corporation) and Robert Herjavec (Shark Tank).

The team will visit Americus on January 22nd and 23rd to determine if Americus is put into the Top 5.  Once in the Top 5, voting by the public will determine the national winner of $500,000 for their community.  Americus is asking anyone that has a great picture, story or video of the area to post it to any social media platform including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with #MyAmericus.  The Small Business Revolution Team is going to evaluate this social media involvement as they select the final towns.  Remember to make sure that your posts are set to “public” so that anyone can search and view them.

Deluxe has been a proud champion of small business since 1915. The company celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2015, creating the Small Business Revolution as a way to celebrate the small businesses that drive our economy and bring communities like Americus together, and create a movement of support. As a leading provider of marketing services and products for small businesses, Deluxe Corp. believes that small businesses are the future of the American economy.

Along the way, Deluxe learned that nowhere are small businesses more under siege than in small towns. We created the Small Business Revolution–Main Street to help those small businesses, and in turn, those small towns, reignite the spark that drives them and keeps people coming back. Each season, Deluxe searches for one lucky town – and six of its small businesses – to win $500,000 from Deluxe, and document the transformations in an original series. Season 1 featured Wabash, Ind. Season 2 featured Bristol Borough, Penn.
