Dougherty County Broadens Search for Next County Administrator

Staff Report From Albany CEO

Tuesday, December 12th, 2017

As current Dougherty County Administrator, Richard Crowdis prepares for retirement, the Board of Commissioners has engaged in significant efforts to select the best candidate to fill the position of County Administrator. After thoroughly reviewing all applications and interviewing candidates, the Board of Commissioners is seeking to potentially expand the competitive pool of candidates for the position.

The Board acknowledges and thanks those who have progressed in the initial competitive evaluation process, and will now potentially supplement the existing candidate pool by re-advertising the position for an additional 30 days. The Board has employed this interim step as an additional measure of due diligence so as to ensure a broad-based competitive and fair process. Existing candidates will not need to reapply to remain in consideration for the position of County Administrator.
